According to the organisers, the conference aimed to attract international logistics scholars and representatives from aviation agencies and logistics companies worldwide.

The conference will be co-organised by the Vietnam Civil Aviation Administration, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Association (FIATA).

During the two-day meeting, participants will discuss Vietnam's aviation logistics in 2013, and review opportunities and challenges for the sector as far as its security regulations are concerned.

According to the Vietnam Civil Aviation Administration, in 2012, the sector carried 17.5 million of passengers, up 5.2 per cent and transported 201,000 tonnes of cargo, up 1.98 per cent, compared to the previous year.

This year, it expects to carry 19.2 million of passengers and transport 214,000 tonnes of cargo.
