Dublin Airport Traffic Up 4 Percent

Almost 3.9 million traveled through Dublin Airport in the first three months of the year, a 4 percent increase on the same period last year.

Dublin Airport Authority figures also show that just under 1.6 million passengers used the airport last month, some 8 per cent more than in March 2012.

Volumes to and from continental Europe in March increased by 14 per cent ,with more than 780,000 passengers travelling to European destinations.

UK traffic remained on par with last year as almost 599,000 passengers flew to and from there last month.

Passenger volumes to and from North America increased by 8 per cent, with just under 120,000 passengers travelling on transatlantic routes in March.

The number of passengers on other international routes, including the Middle East and Africa, also increased, with almost 45,000 passengers travelling on these services last month.
