March 27--MOSES LAKE -- Grant County will gain an estimated 50 new aerospace jobs as a result of the recent expansion of an Everett-based aircraft maintenance and repair company to Moses Lake.

Aviation Technical Services will occupy a 102,000-square-foot hangar at the south end of the Grant County International Airport.

According to an ATS news release, the company also plans to add an additional 100 jobs at its Moses Lake location over the next two years, depending on customer projects. ATS currently employs about 1,000 people in the Everett area.

ATS President and CEO Matt Yerbic said the company will also help train students of Big Bend Community College's Aviation Maintenance Technology program to work in the aviation industry.

"We've recently expanded our internship program for students at our new Moses Lake division," Yerbic stated.

ATS provides maintenance, repair and overhaul services for commercial and military aircraft. They initially began operations in 1970, according to a company statement.

The Moses Lake division will be able to accommodate up to eight narrow-body aircraft or a combination of up to three wide-body aircraft.
