Alaska Airlines Names Betsy Bacon Managing Director of Cargo
Bacon, an eight-year veteran of the airline, previously served as director of cargo operations and compliance.
SEATTLE, Feb. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Alaska Airlines' Betsy Bacon has been named managing director of Alaska Air Cargo. Bacon, an eight-year veteran of the airline, previously served as director of cargo operations and compliance, where she was responsible for the airline's network of cargo centers and customer locations. Prior to that, she was regional cargo sales manager for the Pacific Northwest, representing both Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air.
"Alaska Air Cargo has grown significantly in financial performance and customer service over the years and is a vibrant part of Alaska Air Group," said Jeff Butler, Alaska Airlines' vice president of customer service – airports. "Betsy has been instrumental in much of this. With her strong leadership and vast knowledge of the cargo industry, I know we'll continue to grow this unit of our business while providing great service and value for our many cargo customers throughout Alaska, the Pacific Northwest and beyond."
Before joining Alaska Airlines, Bacon served for 27 years in various leadership roles at DHL/Airborne Express, including manager of contract oversight administration and field service engineering training in Seattle, and managing sales and operations districts in Tulsa, Okla., Milwaukee, Wis., upstate New York, Manhattan in New York City and San Francisco.
Bacon attended Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.
