Charleston airport panel to meet again on Boeing land sale

Feb. 05--The committee overseeing the sale of land at Charleston International Airport to Boeing for future expansion will meet today at 3 p.m.

The three-member panel headed by former congressman Tommy Hartnett is expected to go behind closed doors to review land appraisals, contract provisions and other matters concerning the 320 acres the aircraft maker wants to buy along International Boulevard across from its main campus.

One week ago the panel voted to recommend that Charleston County Aviation Authority adopt the authority's property appraisal rather than Boeing's independent land value assessment.
