[News Story] ASHBURN, Va.-- Telos Identity Management Solutions, LLC (Telos(Registered) ID) has been selected by Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority to provide Designated Aviation Channeling (DAC) services for processing employee and contractor security threat assessments and criminal history records checks at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport.

Sarasota Bradenton International serves over 1.2 million passengers a year traveling to and from the southwest Gulf coast of Florida. Major airlines provide daily scheduled domestic service, as do seasonal international and domestic charter carriers.

"SRQ takes great pride in its convenient, comfortable, secure and stress-free atmosphere," said Mark Griffin, president of Telos ID. "By augmenting their badging operations with greater efficiency and flexibility, Telos ID DAC enhances their ability to deliver on that promise not just to passengers, but to airlines and tenant services as well."

Telos ID is one of three vendors selected by the Transportation Security Administration to provide airports and airlines with aviation channeling services, and is the first vendor to be certified under the agreement announced by TSA in 2011.

Airports and air carriers use aviation channeling services to submit employee information to TSA so the agency can conduct background checks to identify those with disqualifying criminal histories or who may present a known or potential terrorist threat. TSA requires threat assessments to be conducted for all airport, airline and other tenant employees with access to the restricted areas of an airport, including its own employees, baggage handlers, ground maintenance providers, and restaurant and retail employees.

Telos ID's DAC offering lets aviation-related employers more efficiently run their background check and badging operations. It meets TSA and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulations for handling personally identifiable information, and as a Web-based solution, it allows users to securely access the system wherever they have an Internet connection. Telos ID also provides additional customer service options and more visibility and flexibility for its customers.
