Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) President Greg Principato issued the following statement in response to the U.S. House of Representatives' approval of the Senate's version of the No Hassle Flying Act of 2012, which gives the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) discretion to determine whether checked baggage on a pre-cleared flight must be rescreened:

"We applaud the House's affirmation of the No Hassle Flying Act.

"ACI-NA has tirelessly led a multi-year effort to eliminate the unnecessary and duplicative rescreening of checked baggage arriving into the United States from pre-clearance airports. Congress is to be commended for their attention to this and other risk-based security initiatives that allow TSA's resources to be used more effectively and efficiently. It is our hope that the President will quickly sign this important legislation into law."
