Dubai International Named 'Airport of the Year' At Aviation Business Awards 2012

Dubai: The world's fourth-largest and busiest airport terminal in terms of handling passengers, the Dubai International Airport bags the 'Airport of the year award' at the sixth Aviation Business Awards (ABA) 2012, news agency WAM reported.

The award facilitation ceremony was organized by the magazine publisher ITP Business in Dubai on November 7.

The airport of the year award, conferred to the Dubai International, is the testimony of airports overall strong performances in passenger and cargo operations, relationship building with airlines and other partners, facility enhancements and market innovation in the last 12 months.

"This is a testimony to the successful collaboration between Dubai Airports and our strategic partners, including the 150 airlines that connect us to some 220 destinations around the world", Ali Angizeh, VP Dubai International's (Cargo and Logistics), quoted by WAM as saying.

The ABAs included 14 categories from airline, airport and cargo sectors across the Gulf region.
