Kingfisher Pilots To Strike Over No Pay

Sept. 10, 2012
Auditors of the airline have also raised concern over issues including delayed or no-payment of salaries

India, Sept. 10 -- Cash-strapped Kingfisher Airlines may land deeper into troubles with pilots again threatening to go on strike from Monday for non-payment of salaries.

Media reports said that a section of engineers has already not reported to duty since Wednesday for salary issues while pilots from Delhi and Mumbai may together begin agitation from Monday.

This would not be the first time that the cash-starved airline would see labor unrest resulting into cancellation of flights.

Meanwhile, the auditors of the airline have also raised concern over issues including delayed or no-payment of salaries and demanded strengthening of the internal audit system.

Kingfisher Airlines, which reported long-term borrowings of Rs 5,695 crore as on March 31, 2012, has been negotiating with lenders for restructuring of the debt.
