Spirit Airlines to Add Flights from Houston to Chicago and Las Vegas

Spirit Airlines announced that it is adding two more new routes from Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) starting October 4.

Spirit Airlines announced that it is adding two more new routes from Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) starting October 4.

According to a release, the routes include:

-Daily nonstop service between Houston and Chicago's O'Hare International Airport

-Daily nonstop service between Houston and Las Vegas

Spirit is launching twice daily nonstop service between Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on September 20, with connections available to six destinations, including, Baltimore/Washington, Las Vegas, Phoenix/Mesa, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Toluca/Mexico City, and Portland, Oregon.

"Bush Intercontinental is an important economic engine for the City of Houston, and Spirit's expansion in the largest city in Texas offers passengers great options for nonstop flights from Houston," said Mario C. Diaz, director of aviation for Houston Airports. "Houston is thrilled to welcome Spirit, offering low fares to key markets, to the Gulf Coast of Texas."

"We're very pleased that Spirit has added new service from Chicago O'Hare to Houston Intercontinental Airport," said Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) Commissioner Rosemarie S. Andolino. "Spirit Airlines continues to expand flight options at O'Hare, which is great news for travelers seeking low-cost airfares."
