Building on a strong year of Fixed Base Operations (FBO) growth which saw 10 new bases opened in 2011, ExecuJet Aviation Group confirmed this week at EBACE, Geneva (Stand 136), it is gearing up to expand its brand further into new emerging markets. Next on the network will be Lagos in Nigeria and then it intends to take its expertise further afield - into Asia.

"The new Lagos FBO, which we plan to open this year, is in direct response to this vibrant growing business gateway to Africa," said Mark Abbott, ExecuJet Group FBO Director. He adds that the new facility will be on a par with its state-of-the-art, award-winning FBO facilities in Cape Town, Lanseria and Dubai International, offering full MRO and technical support activity too. "It is imperative to have the right people and provide the right training for them to make our FBOs successful in these emerging markets," Abbott stressed, and this is a key focus this year. "We recognize the importance of investing in such resources and, reflecting on the performance or our worldwide FBOs last year, we are pleased to say that our established and expanding brand has helped attract new business, new customers." Further evidence of this success has been the excellent ranking of the ExecuJet FBOs of multiple regions in three separate trade media FBO surveys over the last few months. European FBOs going strong Traffic has been especially strong at ExecuJet's European FBOs, which collectively handled over 12,000 movements in 2011. The top three performing FBOs in the region were 1. Zurich; 2. Paris Le Bourget and number 3 Berlin Schonefeld. ExecuJet's preferred FBO in Paris, owned and operated by Advanced Air Support, underwent a full refurbishment less than two years ago and has already reported a 100% increase in movements over the previous year. ExecuJet's Berlin Schonefeld FBO, opened five years ago, is now regularly accepting aircraft as large as the Boeing BBJ, Airbus ACJt and Boeing 767, highlighting ExecuJet's capability to competently handle a full range of business aircraft. ExecuJet's second German FBO is strategically located at Frankfurt Airport, one of the world's biggest airports. Here, ExecuJet also runs a refuelling facility with a dedicated fuel truck provided by Shell Fuelling. Spain saw the opening of five FBOs and handling locations over the last year at Barcelona, Gerona, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, and Valencia. ExecuJet's Cambridge FBO, the company's first full-service FBO in the UK also mirrors the outstanding quality of service and facilities that ExecuJet prides itself on throughout its worldwide network. The Cambridge FBO team, headed by Karen Hein-Jones, is looking forward to a busy summer handling business aviation arrivals destined for the 2012 Games. Cambridge Airport is one of a few regional airports in the UK open 24/7 during the period.
