Long-term customer Avioserv San Diego Inc., a global provider of aftermarket aircraft engine parts and lease engines, continues to grow its state-of-the-art IT infrastructure by moving to Quantum's Max-Q Oracle database.

AP&M EXPO EUROPE, LONDON, UK, May 2nd, 2012 – Component Control announced today that long-term customer Avioserv San Diego, Inc., a global provider of aftermarket aircraft engine parts and lease engines, continues to grow its state-of-the-art IT infrastructure by moving to Quantum’s Max-Q OracleTM database. Since 2004, Avioserv has leveraged the Quantum ControlTM software to manage its high-volume parts, sales and leasing business. Avioserv was also an important collaborator in the development of Component Control’s first-generation leasing module. Avioserv has more than 40,000 square feet of warehouse in San Diego, CA, and manages more than 63,000 line items of engine parts.

“We’ve seen the use of Quantum explode over the years so that it is now viewed as the industry standard,” comments Jennifer Bowman, Executive Vice President of Finance at Avioserv. “Since the majority of our trading partners are using the same software it’s become easier to do business with the supply chain and our customers because of the accuracy of engine and parts data and overall gain in efficiencies.”

Avioserv was one of the first aviation companies to use inventory bar coding in 2004 and since then the company has leveraged bar coding and trace document imaging to enhance its inventory management and quoting processes.

Bowman continued, “While we’ve come to rely on Quantum for its stability and reliability, the migration to Quantum’s Max-Q OracleTM database will serve to increase system scalability, security, speed and performance. These capabilities will be significant as we continue to focus on LEAN principles to grow our global business.”
