Gary Brossett, a quality engineer at Pratt & Whitney’s Columbus Engine Center, North America’s leading provider of IAE V2500® engine overhaul services, is AMTSociety's Member of the Month for April 2012.

Gary Brossett is a Quality Engineer at Pratt & Whitney’s Columbus Engine Center, North America’s leading provider of IAE V2500® engine overhaul services.

Before joining Pratt & Whitney Gary served in the United States Air Force for 25 years in aircraft maintenance including three years as a maintenance instructor for the Community College of the Air Force.

Gary earned an A.A.S. in Aircraft Systems Maintenance Technology and A.A.S. Instructor of Technology and Military Science from the Community College of the Air Force; A.A. in Business Administration/Accounting from the University of North Dakota; B.S. in Liberal Studies from Excelsior College; and a Graduate Certificate in Aviation System Safety from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

He holds an Occupational Instructor Certification and Master Aviation Educator designation; Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic with Inspection Authorization and Private Pilot certificates.

He is a past FAA Aviation Safety Counselor and currently volunteers as an FAA Safety Team Lead Representative and “Wings” Pilot Advocate with the Advocates for Aviation Safety Foundation (AFASF).

Gary is a life member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and Air Force Association (AFA) and is a member of the Vintage Aircraft Association (VAA), Aircraft Engine Historical Society (AEHS), National Aerospace FOD Prevention, Inc (NAFPI), AMT Society (AMTS), Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) and EAA chapter 677.
