Russia's Summa Group only bidder for Domodedovo airport

A source said Summa had agreed with the country's largest bank to borrow about $2 billion to fund the deal

Russian multi-industry holding Summa Group has become the only bidder to acquire Moscow's Domodedovo Airport, business daily Vedomosti reported Friday citing sources close to three main applicants.

Vedomosti said the price in Summa's bid was unknown, while Domodedovo, Summa and Goldman Sachs, which organizes the sale, declined to comment.

According to earlier reports, among the other major competitors were investment company A1, a unit of Alfa Group, and companies affiliated with businessman Alisher Usmanov, although his representatives denied that he was interested in the acquisition.

A source close to one of the parties said Summa is likely to have made a preliminary offer without stating the price rather than a formal application and airport owners would start talks with it as no other bidders could appear at this stage.

Another source said that Summa had agreed with the country's largest bank, Sberbank, to borrow about U.S. $2 billion to fund the deal.
