American Airlines will re-launch its daily non-stop flight between Dublin and Chicago O'Hare International Airport beginning April 4, the airline said.

The route will be operated using American's two-class Boeing 767-300 aircraft offering a total of 219 seats, including 28 in Business Class.

On arrival in Chicago, customers will be treated as domestic rather than international passengers following US Immigration Pre-Clearance in Dublin. They will be allowed to make connections in American's Terminal 3 at O'Hare and will not need to claim and re-check baggage before continuing on their next flight. Customers in Dublin will use the new Terminal 2 and will have access to American Airlines self-service machines that enable a range of transactions including re-printing of boarding passes, seat selection and, of course, check-in. Combined with online check-in already available to international passengers via www.aa.com, this additional check-in option will speed customers through the terminal.

"We are excited to be returning to Dublin in 2012. Our flight to Chicago in 2011 proved very popular and we provide a great connection not only to one of the world's most exciting cities but also to the many onward destinations we serve throughout the USA. We work closely with our joint business partners at British Airways as we continue to serve the needs of our customers in Ireland," said Graham Bell, Director of Sales UK and Ireland.
