Landmark Aviation GSO-SAN LLC has been awarded a 37-year lease by the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority for the development and activity of a corporate and general aviation fixed-base operator facility (FBO) at San Diego International. Currently, Landmark Aviation is the operator of San Diego International's FBO. As per this new agreement, the firm will design, construct as well as operate a new FBO, with a 20,000-square-foot terminal, a 250,000-square-foot aircraft parking ramp and five hangars on 12.4 acres of airport land. The lease is expected to give the airport authority $315 million over 37 years, an extra $4.5 million in rent yearly over the existing level. As part of the authority's sustainability hard work, this facility will moreover meet necessities for LEED certification. According to the terms of the lease, Landmark is needed to spend $39 million and build a new FBO facility that gains LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, the highest possible LEED rating. It will follow LEED certification for all of its future building projects, said the airport authority.Ltd.
