United, Continental Employees Get Bonuses Today
$265M In Profit Sharing Going To Employees
DENVER
Dozens of employees of United and Continental Airlines will be getting bonus checks at Denver International Airport on Tuesday.
United Continental Holdings said it will distribute $265 million in profit sharing to employees.
All eligible employees will receive about 5 percent of their annual pay for profit sharing.
"We are sharing the results of working together by distributing more than a quarter of a billion dollars in profit sharing," said Jeff Smisek, United Continental Holdings' president and CEO in a statement.
The profit-sharing checks are being distributed less than a month after United Continental Holdings announced it lost $138 million in the fourth quarter of 2011. However, for all of 2011, the company earned $840 million, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
