Las Vegas based carrier Allegiant (NASDAQ:ALGT) on Tuesday announced plans to establish a new base of operations at Oakland International Airport from 26 April 2012. From April the carrier will base two 166-seat MD-80 series jet aircraft at the airport and provide jobs for approximately 60 people as flight attendants, pilots, mechanics and airport service personnel. In conjunction with the opening of the new base Allegiant will begin services to Billings, Bozeman, Kalispell, Idaho Falls, Medford, Missoula and Redmond. Introductory fares are available from USD29.99 one-way including taxes and fees.
