December 1st, 2011, Los Angeles, CA. -- Build A Plane, a non-profit organization which helps teachers teach science, technology, engineering and math by building real airplanes, has opened its annual eBay online auction just in time for the holidays.
“If you have a pilot to buy for this holiday season, log on to www.BuildAPlane.org,” says Build A Plane Executive Director Katrina Bradshaw. “We’re selling a lot of great gift ideas, from tropical vacations to VIP passes for AirVenture. If you have a hard-to-buy-for pilot on your holiday list, this is the place to go!”
Auction donors include Garmin, Iridium Satellites, Honeywell, AOPA, JPI, Aircraft Spruce, EAA, NBAA, LightSpeed and many others.
New items will be continually added to Build A Plane’s special e-Bay auction site throughout the holiday season. Proceeds from the auction go to support Build A Plane’s aviation education activities across the United States.
“This is a great way to support kids getting more exposure to aviation,” says Build A Plane President and Founder, Lyn Freeman. “Build A Plane has placed more than 200 aircraft projects in schools across the United States to give kids a chance to learn by building real airplanes. It’s fund raising activities like this that enable us to do what we do.”
Build A Plane is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that solicits aircraft donations, and then redirects those airplanes to high schools and youth groups across the country at no charge.
Log onto the auction at www.BuildAPlane.org or call 804/843-3321 for more information.
All proceeds go directly to support the organization’s charitable aviation education efforts.
Build A Plane's annual auction ends this year on December 17th allowing items to be shipped to winning bidders before Christmas.
Build a plane benefits students who get to build or refurbish real airplanes and learn science, math, technology, and engineering.
Schools that sign up with Build A Plane to receive an airplane typically wait more than a year before a project aircraft is available.
