Austrian Airlines will start commercial flights to Iraq next month, the carrier said Thursday.
Biweekly service from Vienna to the northern city of Erbil will begin Dec. 11, a company statement said.
Airline officials said the flights had been scheduled to start in March, but were postponed due to security considerations.
Austrian was the first Western carrier to resume service to the former Yugoslavia after the end of the 1990s Balkans wars.
