Primeflight Names Wein President

PrimeFlight Aviation Services has announced that Mike Wein has been named president of the company, according to Keith Wolken, chairman of parent company SMS Holdings.

PrimeFlight Aviation Services, a leading provider of ground and ramp aviation services for the airline industry, announced today that Mike Wein has been named president of the company, according to Keith Wolken, chairman of parent company SMS Holdings.

Wein succeeds Wolken, who will continue to focus on the ongoing growth plans and development of the entire SMS Holdings operation.

In his new position Wein will direct the company's growth and overall performance in North America. PrimeFlight's operations include a host of landside and airside services that the company provides for all major airlines at 46 airports around the country. These services include ramp services, baggage handling, cabin cleaning, skycap, wheelchair and many others provided by the more than 4,200 PrimeFlight employees.

In announcing the news Wolken stated, "While I have been serving as president of PrimeFlight for the past several years, Mike has been the driving force in the dramatic growth of the company, and this promotion is simply the realization of his and his team's accomplishments. Mike is a loyal and dedicated member of our leadership team and I place great confidence in him. His tenure at PrimeFlight is marked by many accomplishments that have been critical to the success of not only PrimeFlight but have had a profound effect on all of SMS Holdings. Under Mike's leadership I believe that PrimeFlight will continue its record of growth while having a positive impact on this industry."

Wein joined SMS Holdings Corporation in 1999 as regional vice president of the operating company Service Management Systems, and was soon promoted to division vice president. He began his tenure at PrimeFlight in 2004 division vice president over the western United States and was later promoted to the position of vice president of Operations in 2005.

In addition to his experience with PrimeFlight Aviation Services and SMS Holdings Corp., Wein has over 17 years of management experience to include supervisory, operations, and janitorial. He attended Purdue University where he studied Business Management.
