Delta Adds Routes to Mexico, Charlotte, N.C.
Delta has added or announced flights to nearly 30 destinations from Salt Lake in the last year.

Delta Air Lines has added two routes to Mexico from Salt Lake City International Airport and will launch new service to Charlotte, N.C., next year.
On Friday, the carrier began flying to Mexico City, using Boeing 737-800 jets configured with 150 seats. The once-a-day, direct service leaves Salt Lake for Mexico's capital on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday mornings and returns on the same days.
On Saturday, Delta begins flying to Guadalajara, Mexico, using 150- seat 737-800s. Flights leave Salt Lake on Saturday, Monday and Thursday mornings and return in the afternoon.
The new flights aren't aimed only at business people and tourists. They are also meant for Utah's growing Hispanic population, Delta spokesman Anthony Black said.
'"This is an opportunity for them to get back home," Black said.
Delta already provides nonstop flights to Cancun, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan in Mexico, and it may add more destinations in the future.
"We are continuing to explore opportunities to expand service south of the border in Mexico and Latin America," Black said.
March 1, Delta will start daily service to Charlotte, N.C., with Boeing 737-800s. The service to Charlotte links that region's high- tech Research Triangle cities with the Wasatch Front.
