Lufthansa has selected Hamilton Sundstrand to build auxiliary power units for the company's new fleet of 20 Airbus jetliners. Hamilton Sundstrand will deliver the APS 3200 APUs later this year.

Aerospace systems designer Hamilton Sundstrand, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp., said Wednesday it has been selected to provide auxiliary power units for Lufthansa's fleet of 30 new Airbus aircraft.

With the future deliveries, Lufthansa, Europe's largest airline, will operate four different models of Hamilton Sundstrand APUs.

Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems is based in San Diego, Calif.
