Menzies Aviation Announces New Contracts in Hong Kong

The company was recently awarded three new contracts at Hong Kong International Airport.

Menzies Aviation announces it has been awarded three new contracts at Hong Kong International Airport. Asiana Airlines has selected Menzies Aviation as its ramp handler at Hong Kong for a term of four years. The contract, which commences on November 1, 2007 provides for ramp handling services for Asiana’s two daily scheduled passenger aircraft turnarounds from Seoul Incheon together with additional ad-hoc charter flights during peak periods.

Thai Global Airways has also chosen to award a three year ramp handling contract to Menzies Aviation to begin this month. The contract includes provide ramp handling services to the airline’s six weekly B727 freighter operation in to Hong Kong.

Lion Air, based in Jakarta, has been operating since 2000, and is Indonesia’s leading low cost airline. Currently flying a fleet of 37 aircraft, they are the launch customer for the B737-900ER, and have ordered 100 of the aircraft, which will be used for their new Hong Kong services. The route will commence with four weekly flights to Hong Kong, increasing to eight with the possibility of more in the future.
