JETporter, a Tronair company, announces it has received formal approval from Cessna Aircraft Company for the use of JETporter towbarless tugs with Cessna aircraft. “We submitted technical information and specifications on the JETporters for their engineering department to evaluate as well as a unit to test,” says Paul Spinazze, engineering manager, Tronair, Inc. According to Spinazze, Cessna joins a growing list of manufacturers who have officially approved the equipment. “Currently we have units approved by Bombardier for the Globals and we are working with other OEM's to obtain their approval,” he says.

Aircraft models approved include the entire line of Cessna Citation Jets, Excel, Bravo, Sovereign and Mustang. Features added to the JP30 Series (30,000 lb load capacity) include safety restraints, horn, CE wiring, anti-reflective rubberized deck coating and an upgraded Operation and Maintenance manual.

New features added to the JP100S (100,000 lb load capacity) include a lower profile frame, a power steering system, a heavy duty suspension system, a power braking system, CE wiring and an upgraded Operation and Maintenance manual.

“We have been working with Cessna for over 35 years in developing and manufacturing all types of ground support equipment and tools for their production and service facilities as well as for the support of their aircraft and customers,” Spinazze says. “This approval demonstrates the confidence that Cessna has in the equipment Tronair provides their customers to support their aircraft.”
