Rollout of proveo Airport Visualiser at Aviapartner

Aug. 5, 2008
The proveo Airport Visualiser is currently being installed at Aviapartner in both Brussels and Munich. Aviapartner has also recently decided to roll it out at eight more stations.

Brussels/Frankfurt, Aug. 4, 2008 — Aviapartner is the leading full service ground handling company in Continental Europe. Last year, Aviapartner Handling Services was honored with the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol Passenger Ground Handling Award in recognition of its customer friendliness and excellent customer service. Aviapartner is in a strong period of growth. Turnover in 2007 was 35 percent up compared to 2006 and Aviapartner significantly enhanced its customer portfolio in several stations of its network such as Lyon, Marseilles, Nice, Milan Malpensa, and Rome Fiumicino.

And that’s where proveo comes into the picture, because Aviapartner has entrusted proveo with the installation of the Airport Visualiser at all these new and growing locations. In addition, the Airport Visualiser will also be introduced at the stations in Dusseldorf, Venice and Amsterdam.

Among the various modular Airport Visualiser features Aviapartner will be using the Airport Map for an overview of the apron fleet and relevant information related to individual units, e.g. a GSE’s operation status. Furthermore proveo will be installing the Access Control feature to stop unauthorized use of the GSE and helping to reduce damage done to the equipment. proveo’s Impact Sensor will be shedding light into accidents or any other kind of collision involving the GSE by recording the incident including such vital details as time, place and name of driver. In order to reduce the initial investment costs Aviapartner chose a rental solution including server hosting by proveo.

Sven Van Droogenbroeck, procurement manager at Aviapartner, about the decision in favor of proveo: “We opted for the Airport Visualiser because we are convinced that it will help us optimize the utilization of our GSE fleet. With the increasing oil prices, fuel costs have become a major issue to us.

The Airport Visualiser will help us control our fuel expenses and thus reduce our carbon footprint. Moreover, I am convinced that the system will enable us to minimise the number of accidents and repair costs. While reducing the unnecessary engine hours we will win on maintenance costs, on expenses for repairs (wear and tear) and of course fuel costs. By identifying excess equipment we should be able to reduce investments and optimize equipment costs in general.”

Aviapartner is a highly renowned ground service provider with a long tradition and proveo is proud to count them as one of their customers. The Airport Visualiser installations at the stations in Amsterdam and Dusseldorf are ongoing; France and Italy will start soon. The full rollout is scheduled to go live in the first quarter of 2009.
