Etihad Airways Reports Traffic Results for 2008
During 2008 the airline flew a total of 6,021,931 passengers, an increase of 34 percent from 2007.

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has released its traffic results for the full year 2008.
During 2008 the airline flew a total of 6,021,931 passengers, an increase of 34 percent from 2007. Its load factor rose from 68 percent in 2007 to 75 percent in 2008.
The busiest day of 2008 for Etihad was Dec. 19, when the airline flew a record 20,937 passengers.
The airline took delivery of nine new aircraft in 2008, increasing its fleet to a total of 42 aircraft.
Crystal Cargo, Etihad's cargo division, showed a rise of 19 percent in the number of cargo shipments handled in 2008 compared to 2007. The amount of cargo tons transported throughout 2008 rose by 16 percent from the previous year to 202,430 tons.
