American Airlines, a subsidiary of US-based holding company, AMR Corporation (NYSE: AMR), has announced that American Airlines has reported preliminary passenger traffic results for August 2009.
The airline has reported an August 2009 load factor of 84.7 percent, an increase of 1.2 points versus the same period last year. Traffic decreased 8.1 percent in August 2009 and capacity decreased 9.4 percent year over year.
Domestic traffic has decreased 9.1 percent year over year on 11 percent less capacity. International traffic decreased by 6.4 percent relative to last year on a capacity decrease of 6.7 percent.
