Alaska Air Group announces load factor improvements for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air for September

Revenue passenger miles for Alaska Airlines for the month rose by 1.4% compared to September 2008, while available seat miles fell by 1.4%, resulting in an increase in load factor of 2.1 percentage points at 77.9%.

Alaska Air Group Inc (NYSE:ALK) announced on Monday traffic results for its subsidiaries Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air for September 2009, with both carriers recording improvements in load factor compared to September 2008.

Revenue passenger miles for Alaska Airlines for the month rose by 1.4% compared to September 2008, while available seat miles fell by 1.4%, resulting in an increase in load factor of 2.1 percentage points at 77.9%.

Horizon Air's revenue passenger miles for September 2009 dropped by 1.1% compared to the same period of last year, while available seat miles decreased by 2.6%, resulting in a 1.1 percentage point increase in load factor at 73.7%.
