Zurich, Jan. 29, 2010 – Swissport International has announced two personnel changes within its cargo organization. Wouter Brand assumes overall responsibility for Swissport’s Dutch airfreight handling, while Francisco Gonçalves takes charge of cargo handling in Brazil. Both appointees assume their duties with immediate effect.

Wouter Brand (50) previously served in Global Key Account Management at Swissport Head Office, where he was active in developing commercial contacts and agreements. A local management change prompted his short-notice transfer to Swissport Amsterdam, where, with his extensive expertise, he has not only stabilized and restructured the local organization over the past few months but has put it back on a successful business path. In view of this, Brand – who is also a Dutch national – has been entrusted with overall responsibility for Swissport’s local cargo activities, with retroactive effect to Jan. 1, 2010. Swissport International wishes him every success and satisfaction in his new capacity.

Structural modifications have also been effected at Swissport Brazil, as part of a broader reappraisal of the local organization. As a result, the local cargo organiation is now subordinated to the Head of Ground Handling, Francisco Gonçalves (44). The new arrangement will not have any impact on day-to-day cargo business, where Wagner Xavier (who has been in charge of Swissport Brazil’s operations and training for the last five years) takes charge. Xavier can also draw on some 25 years of experience in the cargo sector, along with the marketing support and assistance of Ubiratan Lago.

Swissport thanks Reinaldo Góes, former Head of Cargo Brazil, for his many years of good collaboration, and offers him every good wish for his professional future.
