March 30, 2010
The audit focuses on the delivery of quality to the customer, regular and timely interaction with customers, as well as the delivery of training and maintenance of records.

Zurich, March 30 – Swissport has become the first ground handling agent to renew the Cargo 2000 Certificate of Approval. The audit focuses on the delivery of quality to the customer, regular and timely interaction with customers, as well as the delivery of training and maintenance of records.

The new certification will last until March 2013.

John Batten, executive vice-president global cargo stated, "This reaffirms the Swissport commitment to quality. We operate in a service industry and Cargo 2000 is one of the pillars we use to deliver quality to the customer. 2009 was a difficult year for the industry, but we learnt a huge amount about what drives our business forward. Measuring what we do is key to our strategy and distinguishes us from others in the handling field. This differentiation will continue, and is a priority for us in 2010."

Swissport also certifies individual stations to the same standard, again the first to do so, and a further 20 stations will undergo that process in 2010.

Lothar Moehle, regional director EMEA Cargo 2000 commented, "The Cargo 2000 organization is very pleased to grant the well-deserved certificate again to Swissport. During the last years, Swissport has been working tirelessly to improve their own quality performance. This leads automatically to a quality improvement for the Cargo 2000 customers of Swissport. We do know, that Swissport will not rest on their laurels and will be working on continuous quality improvements at all their stations in the global network."
