JetBlue Plans Burbank to N.Y. Flights
JetBlue Airways will be providing nonstop, coast-to-coast flights from Burbank to New York City.
BURBANK, Calif. (AP) _ JetBlue Airways will be providing nonstop, coast-to-coast flights from Bob Hope Airport in Burbank to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City, the company said.
Three daily flights will begin May 24 and a fourth flight will be added July 15, the company said in a statement.
Charles Lombardo, president of the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority, said the new flights would be a boon for the city's entertainment industry.
``With so much of the entertainment industry headquartered here, flights to the Big Apple are a great match with our airport,'' he said.
Introductory fares from Burbank to New York City will cost $99 each way.
JetBlue now serves seven airports in California, including Burbank, Long Beach, Oakland, Ontario, Sacramento, San Diego and San Jose.
