Northwest Airlines passengers who need to change their flights at the last minute can do so for a $25 fee.
With the new fee, passengers can confirm a seat on a flight within three hours of checking in (though they need to be at the airport), replacing a $100 change fee in those last-minute cases. The $25 fee also allows a passenger to change the route of a connecting flight.
If a connection through Northwest's Minneapolis hub arrives earlier than a connection through its Memphis hub, the passenger can take the earlier flight by paying the $25 fee. The airline still allows passengers to wait on standby for free.
