Construction has started on restrooms that Kansas City International Airport officials said last November would be coming to the passenger holding areas.
Crews started work recently in the Southwest and Delta departure lounges in Terminal B. The restrooms should be completed in August, KCI spokesman Joe McBride said.
Travelers will no longer have to leave the secured area to use the restrooms and then have to go through the checkpoints again.
Travelers at Terminals A and C will have to wait longer — possibly until August 2006 — for holding-area restrooms, McBride said.
Money left from the $258 million terminal renovation project is paying for restroom construction in Terminal B.
