The Board of Supervisors has approved $130,000 for a remodel of the San Luis Obispo County Airport terminal to ease passenger congestion in the morning.

The project will move the ticket counters forward and put the bomb-detection machines behind them. The plans also call for removal of part of a wall to make more space for passengers.

Currently 2,000 people a day go through the terminal, and traffic peaks between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. The improvements will help the terminal function until a new one is finished in 2010.
