ObjectVideo Selected by Memphis Airport for Perimeter Security System

RESTON, Va. -- Memphis to use ObjectVideo VEW to protect arriving and departing aircraft as well as alert security personnel to intruders along fence

ObjectVideo, the leader in intelligent video, announced today that it has been selected by Memphis/Shelby County Airport as a critical component of an Aviation Perimeter Intrusion Detection System (APIDS) to enhance perimeter security and protect against various types of threats to the airport and arriving and departing aircraft.

ObjectVideo VEW is featured as part of the APIDS developed by Stanley Security Solutions, Inc., a provider of access control and security solutions. The software will be integrated with closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras to proactively detect security threats along 34,000 feet of fenced perimeter, as well as to alert airport and law enforcement authorities. ObjectVideo VEW will secure the airport's runways and grounds against prohibited individuals and vehicles even during nighttime, poor weather and limited visibility conditions.

"ObjectVideo is a true force multiplier for Memphis Airport," said Walter White, Director of Operations and Public Safety, Memphis/Shelby County Airport Authority. "We chose ObjectVideo VEW to substantially increase our security posture without having to increase our manpower. Roving foot or vehicle patrols by our security force are only effective when the officer is in the area. ObjectVideo provides us 100 percent coverage of our perimeter, 24 hours a day, seven days a week."

ObjectVideo's patented, award-winning intelligent video surveillance software, based on artificial intelligence called "computer vision," provides automated, real-time detection, identification, tracking and analysis of potential threats and events. It runs all objects in a camera's view against threat-specific pre-programmed rules. When an object violates a rule, for example, when a person or vehicle enters an off-limits area or lingers near it, the software alerts security personnel by phone, pager, email or an alert console.

"ObjectVideo VEW represents the current state-of-the-art for video-based threat detection technology, both in terms of its algorithm sophistication and user-friendliness, not to mention it is the most cost-effective solution on the market," said Kendall Crawford of Stanley Security Solutions.

"Memphis International joins a growing list of airports -- including Miami International, Key West International and Andrews Air Force Base (AFB) -- that have chosen ObjectVideo because of our expertise and experience in guarding against perimeter intrusion through superior intelligent video technology," said Raul Fernandez, CEO and Chairman of ObjectVideo.
