Singapore Airlines Wins in Leisure magazine's ''World's Best'' for 10th Year in a Row

NEW YORK (AP) -- For the 10th year in a row, Crystal Cruises, Hertz Rental and Singapore Airlines have won top spots in the cruise, car rental and international airline categories of Travel+Leisure magazine's ''World's Best'' awards.

Dominating the domestic airlines category were low cost and regional airlines, with Midwest Airlines coming in first, followed by JetBlue, Independence, Song and Frontier.

Sydney, Australia, was named the world's best city, and Bali was named the world's best island.

Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan took honors for world's best hotel. Regional awards for best hotels went to the Rusty Parrot Lodge & Spa in Jackson Hole, Wyo.; the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai on Oahu, Hawaii; the Four Seasons Resort Nevis in the Caribbean; the Chateau Les Crayeres in Reims, France; Lizard Island on Australia's Great Barrier Reef; the Singita Private Game Reserve in Sabi Sand, South Africa, and La Casa Que Canta in Zihuatanejo, Mexico.

The least expensive hotel in the list's top 100 hotels worldwide is Domaine des Hauts de Loire in Onzain, France, which came in at No. 58 and has doubles starting at just $135.

Micato Safaris, a New York-based company that arranges trips to India, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana and other parts of Africa, came in first in the category of tour operators and safari outfitters.

The awards are based on a survey of about 17,000 readers.
