Tallahassee Regional Airport is receiving the "2005 Excellence in Airport Security" award in the Airport Security Report from Air Safety Week, one of the aviation industry's leading security publications.

Tallahassee Regional was in the small airport category (airports with fewer than 1million annual passenger enplanements). The award is based on six criteria: airport security advances; security effectiveness; security management; leadership; balancing airport security programs and operations; and maintaining public confidence in air travel.

The award is being given at an industry conference in Toronto on Sept. 20.
