Katrina Forces More Flight Cancellations

Katrina forced scores more flight cancellations involving New Orleans and other Southern cities Tuesday as airlines juggled their schedules around one of the worst storms on record.


Airlines shares fell. AMR shares lost 71 cents, or 5.3 percent, to close at $12.69, Continental shares dropped 58 cents, or 4.2 percent, to $13.25 and Delta shares fell 7 cents, or 5.5 percent, to $1.20 trading today on the New York Stock Exchange. Northwest shares fell 25 cents, or 4.8 percent, to close at $4.94 on the Nasdaq Stock Market.
