Fort Worth Awarded Grant for Alliance Airport Runway Project

More than $30 million in federal funds have been awarded to the city, which owns the airport, to pay for engineering, land acquisitions, environmental assessments and other site work.

FORT WORTH -- The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded a $6.4 million grant to the city for the Alliance Airport runway extension project.

The grant will help cover the cost of relocating Farm Road 156, according to a news release from Rep. Kay Granger, R-Fort Worth. The total cost of the project is estimated at $138 million, according to the statement.
