Call for Nominations for 2006 AIAA/AAAE/ACC Jay Hollingsworth Speas Award

It honors the person or persons judged to have contributed most outstandingly during the recent past towards achieving compatible relationships between airports and/or heliports with the surrounding environment.

Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2006 AIAA/AAAE/ACC Jay Hollingsworth Speas Airport Award. The recipient will receive a certificate and a $10,000 honorarium.

This award is jointly sponsored by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronutics (AIAA), the American Associate of Airport Executives (AAAE), and the Airports Consultants Council (ACC)

It honors the person or persons judged to have contributed most outstandingly during the recent past towards achieving compatible relationships between airports and/or heliports with the surrounding environment. Such improvements might be in airport land use, airport noise reduction, protection of environmental critical resources, architecture, landscaping or other design considerations to improve compatibility of airports and their communities, etc.

Deadline for submission of nominations is 1 October 2005.

Presentation of the award will be made at the AAAE/ACC Planning, Design and Construction Symposium, scheduled for February 2006. The recipient will be asked to make a brief presentation describing their accomplishment/contribution.
