LONDON (AP) -- Growth in the number of passengers traveling through major British airports improved last month compared with July and August, when traffic was affected by the London bombings and strikes at Heathrow Airport, airport operator BAA PLC said Monday.
BAA said it carried 13.5 million passengers in September, up 3 percent from the same month last year. Growth in July and August was 2.6 percent and 0.5 percent respectively.
At BAA's biggest facility, London's Heathrow airport, September traffic was up 1.4 percent.
BAA also operates Gatwick and Stansted airports serving London, and airports at Southampton, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
