BWI Gets New Administrator Next Month
The aviation executive who led the Salt Lake City airport through post-Sept. 11 security upgrades and preparations for the 2002 Winter Olympics will take over BWI next month.
James J. White left as director of the port of Baltimore after clashing with Flanagan, his boss. White's replacement, F. Brooks Royster III, was chosen by a search committee, and it was initially reported that Flanagan did not agree with the pick. In the end, the committee and Flanagan said the choice last May of Royster was unanimous.
For the airport job, the search committee sent four names in no particular order about three weeks ago to the transportation secretary before he decided on Campbell.
