An Israeli high-tech innovation aims to take airport security to the next level, analyzing the voices of suspect passengers, Channel 2 TV reported Thursday.
The GK-1 access control system, developed by the Israeli company Nemesysco Ltd., is essentially a walkthrough lie detector that could alert security guards to potential terrorists, the report said.
"The system analyzes voice waves for every passenger, to draw conclusions about their emotional state and from that to deduce if they are a security risk," Amir Liberman, chief executive officer of Nemesysco Ltd., told Channel 2.
The system, though not as effective as a traditional polygraph machine, has been tested successfully in Russian airports and has drawn interest from several countries, the report said.
The TV report included footage from a Moscow airport where the device is in use.
