TSA Names Mark Haught as Federal Security Director at O'Hare Int'l Airport

Mark Haught was assigned as Deputy Assistant Director for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) in Washington DC, prior to joining the TSA.

CHICAGO , Nov. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today named Mark Haught as the Federal Security Director(FSD) at O'Hare International Airport (ORD). As FSD, Mr. Haught is also the responsible for overseeing all of the airports in the State of Illinois.

"This selection formalizes the leadership team at ORD. Mark's skill set and experience is key to the success of our overall operations and we know he will continue to do great things in Chicago ," said Central Area Director Leopoldo Vasquez .

Haught has been Acting Federal Security Director at ORD for six months. Prior to joining TSA, he was assigned as Deputy Assistant Director for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) in Washington DC. NCIS is a federal law enforcement organization dedicated to protecting the people, families, and assets of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps worldwide. Before that, Haught was a member of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency where he served as program director for antiterrorism research. From 1993 to 1999, Haught served as the Operations and Anti-terrorism Officer while serving with U.S. Forces in Japan .

On November 19, 2001 , President Bush signed the Aviation and Transportation Security Act, which created the TSA and established the authority of the Federal Security Director. The FSD is the chief federal security officer at the airport. The FSD is also the face of TSA in the region and the first point of contact when a security issue arises.
