Sea-Tac Airport Has Expanded Cell-Phone Lot for Holiday Traffic

An experimental cell-phone lot made its debut last holiday season, but had 15 parking spaces compared with the new lot's 43.

To help with holiday traffic, the Port of Seattle is opening an expanded cell-phone lot at Sea-Tac Airport beginning this morning.

The parking lot or holding area is intended to relieve traffic congestion by giving those picking up arriving passengers a no-cost alternative to circling airport drives. Drivers can wait in the lot until the passengers have deplaned and are ready to be picked up.

The lot is on Air Cargo Road in front of the Delta Air Lines cargo building. A two-minute drive to baggage-claim areas, it is directly across the street from the Air Cargo Road exit from the airport roadway.
