LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 30, 2005--Qantas Airways has announced it will increase the number of flights from New York to Australia from three to five per week beginning February 27, 2006.

"The addition of two extra services each week from New York (JFK), operating via Los Angeles to Sydney, will provide travelers with even more choices," said Howard Goldberg, Qantas Airways vice president marketing and leisure sales, The Americas. "These added flights from one of the busiest cities in the world will also present improved access to business markets between the U.S. East Coast and Australia," he added.

The additional New York flights will operate from JFK on Mondays and Saturdays on three-class Boeing 747-400 aircraft equipped with Qantas' award-winning Skybed business class sleeper seat.

Qantas currently operates services from New York on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Recently, Qantas announced it would commence service from San Francisco to Australia beginning March 29, 2006. The airline had also added nine extra services from Los Angeles to Sydney between December 2005 and February 2006 to accommodate the peak season demand.

In addition to the 18 Qantas services operating between Los Angeles and Sydney each week, passengers traveling from New York can transfer in Los Angeles to Qantas services operating to Brisbane and Melbourne.
