WASHINGTON - Two federal airport security screeners got busted after the feds were tipped off that they were stealing prescription drugs from wheelchair-bound passengers, The Post has learned.

One screener was charged with stealing OxyContin painkiller pills from an undercover agent's bag in a sting operation.

The screener, who worked for the Transportation Security Administration, later confessed to stealing meds at least 20 times over a six-month period, the feds say. Another screener allegedly confessed to stealing prescription drugs from passenger carry-on bags on five occasions.

Both screeners have since resigned. In September, the U.S. Attorney's Office sent each of them a letter charging them with a crime.

Since 2002, 170 TSA screeners have been fired for theft.

The screener busts are revealed in a yet-to-be released report by the Department of Homeland Security's inspector general.
