Bob Hope Airport Evacuated; Woman Entered Building Through Exit Door

Feb. 1, 2006
The woman was interviewed in connection with the incident, which began about 9:45 a.m. at Terminal A.

A terminal at Bob Hope Airport was evacuated for about 15 minutes today so passengers could be re-screened by security officers after a woman entered the building through an exit door, officials said.

The woman was interviewed in connection with the incident, which began about 9:45 a.m. at Terminal A, said Lucy Burghdorf, a spokeswoman for the airport.

About 3,000 people were told to leave the building and go through screening again because the woman was out of sight of security officers briefly after she entered the terminal through the exit door, Burghdorf said.

The woman was not arrested, but the incident was under investigation.
