Heavy Snowfall Closes Prague International Airport

Several Prague-bound flights were diverted to airports in Vienna, Austria, or to regional airports in Moravia.

Czech international airport was closed Sunday due to heavy snowfall, Czech radio reported.

Overnight snow blanketed most of the Czech Republic, including Prague, causing traffic problems throughout the country. The airport was closed at 9:30 a.m. (0830GMT) and was to remain closed at least until Sunday evening, as the snow was continuing.

Several Prague-bound flights were diverted to airports in Vienna, Austria, or to regional airports in Moravia.
